Gear and Weapons: What to Buy for Your Next Task

Choose quest bait first, then useful weapons and upgrades without following obsolete attachment advice.

Buy for a specific task: the right lure first, then a weapon you can use between retreats. Check the shop label before spending; attachment and engine goals have separate completion conditions.

Identify the purchase you need

Professional Boss Lure is the $1,200 shop purchase for the Tuna route. The ordinary Professional Lure is a different item.

Choose room to reload

Against Giant Piranha, a shotgun can serve a retreat, reload and fire routine. Keep enough open ground to turn back to the boss.

For Pufferfish, shotgun or SMG is a practical choice while moving around its poison clouds.

Check the current attachment choices

Patch 1.0.11 removed purchasable iron sights and blocks replacing a suppressor with a compensator. Check the attachment offered on your current weapon before buying.

  1. At the red shoreline weapon shop on Rocks, inspect the Sniper Rifle shelf. Version 1.0.11 displays $3,800 and E.
  2. For the upgrade boxes, equip a ranged weapon first. Empty hands show Equip Ranged Weapon.
  3. Read the selected box: Already Bought and Maxed for this island are different shop states. Check the label before another purchase.

Find the boat shop and distinguish its labels

On Rocks, a red shoreline shed displays Dual Motors and Boat Radar. The recorded version 1.0.10 shop shows Dual Motors $860 and Boat Radar $200, both marked Already Bought.
